Organizations across Canada are calling for modern forestry practices as awareness grows about the harms of forest herbicide spraying. National groups such as Safe Food Matters are now urging Health Canada to address regulatory failures. Québec showed this transition is possible by banning forest spraying in 2001. Ontario must follow.

For 70 years, forest herbicide spraying has continued in Ontario despite sustained opposition. Indigenous Nations have formally opposed this practice, passing resolutions and speaking out since the 1980s, warning of harm to the land, forest foods, waterways, wildlife and communities.
